New report exposes major flaws in economics studies

29th November, 2005

A new report highlights major flaws in studies which purport to show economic benefits of more air travel.A new report has been produced by dutch consultancy, CE Delft. It was commissioned by a number of NGOs (Non Governmental Organisations) who are becoming increasingly concerned about the deluge of reports which aim to show huge economic benefits of evermore air travel. Most of these reports are partial and misleading. It is no coincidence that most of the reports have been produced or sponsored by the aviation industry and are being used to lobby governments to support airport expansion.CE Delft took analysed 3 reports in detail and found major flaws in the methodology. CE Delft’s conclusions completely validate what AEF and other organisations have been saying for several years.Link to the CE Delft report(PDF file, 240 kbytes).
