Biodiversity is most simply defined as the variety of life on earth. It encompasses wildlife, habitats and ecosystems. Loss of biodiversity is one of the greatest threats to the planet.
Airports impact biodiversity directly by their land-take and air travel impacts biodiversity indirectly by a range of mechanisms, including pollution and climate change.
