After a busy time with consultation responses and presentations, in the last fortnight we’ve been catching up on news items for the web (see our Latest News), preparing for our members’ AGM and dealing with casework inquiries.
Tim spoke at the Airport Operators Association’s annual conference in London (the event at which Maria Eagle set out Labour’s new position on Heathrow and on aviation emissions), and argued that if EU ETS should fail, alternative policies to constrain aviation emissions would need to be considered, which may impact airport activity much more significantly. He also attended the Department for Transport’s External Advisory Group, which focused on connectivity for UK businesses and the close of the consultation on the scoping study for a new aviation policy.
