NGO calls for clarity on ‘noise action plans’

10th December, 2008

Environmental Protection, the national NGO (non-governmental organisation) dealing with noise and air pollution, has called on the government to clarify draft noise action planning guidance for airport operators.

Better guidance is needed as part of the UK’s responsibity to draw up ‘Noise Action Plans’. See earlier story earlier article which includes AEF response.

Environmental Protection is critical of the government’s use of an extreme 69dB in determining ‘acceptability’ of noise. See their press release.
