Challenging the aviation industry and some news from down under

Tim’s been addressing various industry representatives over the last two weeks, including speaking at the Air Transport Action Group’s Aviation and Environment Summit and meeting with BAA to discuss environmental challenges, while Cait met transport and environment campaigners from across Europe at T&E’s AGM.

Government guidance to aerodrome operators on how to draw up noise action plans has now been published, with some changes reflecting AEF’s input to the draft document. Comment is in our News section.

Other new AEF web material includes a commentary on the fact that the recently announced drop in the UK’s CO2 emissions makes no mention of aviation, and an academic research study from Australia challenging whether aviation growth is compatible with the need for emissions reductions .
