AEF has put in a detailed response to the government’s aviation ‘framework’ consultation. ‘Framework ‘response
The framework does not address the contentious issue of new runways, this being left to the Davies Commission. However, the framework ought to give vital context to the runway debate and the Commission.
The framework is heavily biased by claiming massive economic benefits of more air travel without producing real evidence. Economic costs are ignored and environmental impacts are played down.
‘Framework’ response (This document does not include two appendices that were submitted. These are an AEF response on carbon budgets to the CCC (Committee on Climate Change) and an AEF briefing ‘Airport Capacity Crisis? What crisis?‘)
