AEF’s Airspace and Noise Community Forum has written to the Aviation Minister outlining concerns with the recently announced overarching noise policy.
The main areas of concerns include the fact that the policy makes aircraft noise management subsidiary to growth. Also, that the policy outlines that the industry must only mitigate the impacts of noise rather than limit it. Finally, the letter outlines concerns around relying on undefined and unexplained concepts.
The letter is signed by 25 member organisations and was copied to the Chair of the Transport Select Committee, the Chairs of the Airport Communities All Party Parliamentary Group and members of the Department’s Airspace and Noise Engagement Group.
