Passenger forecasts, bizjet emissions, and our summer newsletter

7th August, 2009

August has so far given us a chance to get on with projects that have been simmering for some time in the background – including analysis of the government’s latest passenger forecasts and work on business jet emissions – while keeping a watchful eye on the airport noise action plans that are beginning to emerge.

We’ve also published the summer edition of our newsletter Flying Green, which is sent quarterly to our members. Back copies are available under Newsletters in our Publications section. New on our website has been comment on an airline campaign opposing air passenger duty (with a link to our letter in the Telegraph), and on the Transport minister’s announcement that short haul flights should be “progressively replaced” by rail.

Inquiries in the last fortnight have included questions about public safety at small airfields, the noise quota count limit at Bournemouth, and what airfield operators can do about pilots refusing to comply with noise abatement procedures.
