24th November, 2014
The Aviation Environment Federation has organised a flight path seminar to discuss the objectives behind the UK’s airspace strategy and the airspace change process.
In 2011, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) published its Future Airspace Strategy for the UK 2011-2030 detailing a number of changes intended to improve the efficiency of air traffic management both today and in the future. Since then several airports and NATS have been planning airspace changes, and in some cases, trialling alternative flight paths. The strength of community reaction to these trials has hit the media, with deep concerns being expressed about issues such as concentration, increased over flights and the lack of consultation.
